Senior Acting – students 12-adult
Mondays 4:30-6:00 p.m.
PERFORMANCE PLUS This course has been developed for students who want to explore and develop their performance skills either further or for the first time, and for those who are seriously interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts. It consists of discreet components:
- voice, including work on monologues and scenes which can be used as Drama Festival entries, Royal Conservatory Speech Arts material, and/or audition pieces
- physical theatre and stage movement
- improvisation
- character development through a variety of challenging acting techniques, for example Stanislavsky, Brecht, and Spolin;
- playbuilding.
After developing personal skills in the above areas, students will develop theatrical communication skills and learn to work in a performance company through the development and production of a play to be performed at our Spring Showcase. Finally, they will look at “the biz”: agents, resumes and acting portfolios.
